Welcome to my practice.
For over twenty years as a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Clinical Nurse Specialist, I have had the privilege of helping thousands of individuals, couples, families and children of all ages get their lives back on track and stay on track. I am a clinical member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy and the Texas Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. I received my Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Northern Colorado, my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Colorado State University, and my nursing degree from the University of Alaska.
My passion is to help people of all ages solve their difficulties and problems in order to live happier lives. In therapy as well as through my public speaking, it has been rewarding to be able to improve the lives of thousands of couples, individuals and families. With Annie Drake Seminars, I offer presentations, seminars, radio and television shows as well as workshops on a variety of relationship issues. I am author of Help Me... I Have a Teenager!! For over twenty years I have had a wonderful marriage with my husband and together we have raised two delightful daughters. My private practice is in Austin, Texas.

My clinical work has been extensive over the past twenty years. My approach to therapy is a systemic one that is solution oriented, which means helping find the roots of problems and then offering fresh ideas and “user friendly” strategies that really work - because they make sense. Since relationship and family situations can be complicated, understanding the root of a problem is critical to your success. When I offer this kind of insight to my clients, they gain a new perspective to their problems. My clients find my approach refreshing.
I work with individuals, couples, married couples, children, teenagers, families (including extended families) as well as offer pre-marital counseling. My goal is to achieve what I call "win-win" solutions so everyone gets more of what they want and need in their relationships. In marriage counseling, most husbands find the insights I provide logical and useful. I strive to make sure that the solutions I offer are useful for both men and women. In my work with families, I assist parents in becoming part of the solution in order to help their children.
